Rip tries to rip forever

Post by krogalon » Wed Feb 18, 2009 9:48 am

Hi!

I have tried Rip with some CDs that have scratches. It seems that it is trying to re-extract servers indefinitely, although Maximum track re-read attempts is set to 5 (default setting). Shouldn't it stop at some time and skip to the next track?

regards, Stefan

Define forever.

It can spend several hours on a minor glitch.

Isn't this "forever" problem why some think cdparanoia is bad? IIRC, the latest paranoia (CDParanoia III 10.2) can be set to limit how much it lets a drive churn away.
