Any news?

Post by krmathis » Sat Feb 14, 2009 10:39 am

A month have passed since last post. Hence I wonder if there are any news, development progress, or like?
Especially related to custom output file naming, which is the non-existing feature preventing me from using Rip as my audio CD ripper...

Thanks! :)

I've been away from home for several weeks and haven't had the opportunity to do much work on Rip. I plan on adding the following features in the near future:
  • Custom file naming
  • Sub-sector comparison for ripping
  • Generic plugin architecture, for services like discogs or albumartexchange
Hopefully I'll be home within a week and will have some time to devote to the project!

Woah! Just noticed you had released a new build, 2 months after the previous one...
..and my wishes have been heard, since it now have custom file naming. Thanks a lot! :D

Its now open-source as well. I wonder why you switched to Bazaar though, and not stick to Subversion which you use for Max, Play and Tag?
So many version control systems in use and which I will need to know how to handle. CVS, Subversion, Mercurial and now Bazaar... he he

Now out testing!

I'm actually in the process of switching Max, Play and Tag over to bzr as well. It's not that I think bzr is so wonderful- it's just that I am a big fan of launchpad.net, and plan on using their bug trackers and blueprints for my products.

Thanks Stephen,
1.0b4 seems to work smoothly for me so far. Ripped a handful CD's, in various conditions, to Apple Lossless without a single glitch.

Great work! :D
