The current version of Rip is Rip-1.0b14 as of 30 September 2009.

Changes in 1.0b3:
  • Fixed crashes of the form "XXX was mutated while being enumerated"
  • Removed 64-bit versions
  • Album art is now embedded in FLAC and ALAC files
  • Added ability to submit disc information to MusicBrainz and FreeDB
  • Added a new panel for metadata editing
  • Fixed version numbering scheme (for Sparkle compatibility)
  • Fixed UI glitches where sheets were not initially active
Requested feedback:
  • Use of metadata editing drawer vs. metadata editing panel
  • Stability

Changes in 1.0b5:
  • New audio extraction user interface
  • New metadata plugin system added
  • New AlbumArtExchange metadata plugin
  • Additional MusicBrainz information is embedded in FLAC and WavPack files if MusicBrainz is used as the metadata source (blueprint)
  • Non-latin text is correctly saved in FLAC metadata (lp:343711)
  • Metadata changes are now reflected immediately

  • New audio extraction interface
  • Desired metadata plugins
Note: The data format has changed in this version. Delete ~/Library/Application Support/Rip/Ripped CDs.sqlite before running.

  • Added integrated crash reporter
  • Metadata changes are now reflected immediately
  • Disc images are now created correctly
  • Lookup Metadata Using menu works again

  • Added an option to force output file generation when accurate extraction fails
  • Added a sheet for manual drive offset specification
  • AccurateRip checksums are correctly calculated for the final track on discs where the 5th to last audio frame doesn't contain silence
