FLAC => anything loses tags.

Post by Sorin2120 » Wed Mar 14, 2007 10:46 pm

When converting from a .flac to any other file type the resulting files have no artist or track info. I can convert using another converting program (switch) but it is much slower and uses a lot more system resources, so I prefer Max, which seems to work with every other conversion.

Any ideas as to who Max can't keep the tag info when converting from .flac?

Which version of Max are you using?

Also, what FLAC tags are present in the file and to what format are you converting?

I'm using the most recent (.7.1) and have tried converting to .mp3, mp4 and .m4a; they all lost all info.

I don't know everything contained by the tags before hand, but I know the files at least had names before the conversion. Also, using Switch they converted and had names, artist, album year and genre afterwards,; but the conversion took about forty-five minutes, whereas with Max it only take a couple.

Thanks for the help.

If you open one of the FLACs with Tag and go to the Advanced tab, what tags are shown?

Can you send me one of the files for testing?
