Resolved: Max 7.0, 7.1 crash after ripping first track of CD

Post by dbcarlton » Fri Jan 26, 2007 6:08 am

New versions of Max (7.0, 7.1) are crashing for me: I tell either of them to rip a CD to WAV files, it gets one track into the CD, and boom. I've tried this with a couple of different CDs. It doesn't get as far as completely writing out the first track: I've seen the track saved under a temporary name. (Sometimes it crashes even earlier in the process.)

Anybody else seen this? It seems like a basic problem; I can't imagine what about my configuration would be weird, but I guess there's something unusual in my configuration. I have a MacBook Pro (the original model, not the Core 2 model). Max 6.1 works fine for me.

Did you delete the old preferences from 0.6.1 before running 0.7/0.7.1? The new versions use an incompatible set of preferences (a bad move on my part).

Thanks! Works great now. And I really love how fast it is.
