Uncompressed audio from Max?

Post by Michael Graubart » Thu Feb 09, 2006 10:05 am

I am on the whole more interested in making CD copies of some CDs than in making MP3s, etc. Is there a way of setting Max to generate uncompressed (.wav or AIFF) files?

In Max's Preferences, in the Formats section, choose the Core Audio tab. In the Type column, there are options for AIFF and WAV (a.k.a. WAVE).

For AIFF, select AIFF in the Type column, then select "Linear PCM, 16 bit big endian signed integer", then click the "Add Format" button. Max will now encode your CD or files as AIFF files.

For WAV, select WAVE in the Type column, then select "Linear PCM, 16 bit little endian signed integer", then click the "Add Format" button. Max will now encode your CD or files as WAV files.
