I am using a Mac Pro 1,1 running Snow Leopard (10.6..
I cannot reliably use the "stable version" (0.9.1) due to the bug with the Formats preferences pane.
The "unstable" version (r1438) works fine, EXCEPT that when I try to convert AIFF to MP3 the resulting file is blank. (Just a completely silent MP3 file of the appropriate length.) Converting AIFF to other formats works, and converting from other formats to MP3 also works. So as a workaround, I can go from AIFF to WAV, and then from WAV to MP3, to get the files I need.
This might seem like a silly complaint (results are results, right?), but I use this particular conversion a lot, and pre-Snow-Leopard MAX accomplished it with a speed and elegance that really made a difference in my workflow. Is there a way to fix this problem?

I just tried this and it worked fine. I started with an MP3 file, used Max to convert it to AIFF, then had Max convert that AIFF to MP3, and it worked.when I try to convert AIFF to MP3 the resulting file is blank
Could there be something particular about these AIFF files that triggers the problem?
