Genre trouble

Post by Yonzie » Sun Jul 16, 2006 12:37 am

When importing tracks ripped with Max into iTunes, the genre is listed numerically...
I get the same "error" in Media Rage and it happens both with 0.5.6 and 0.6.1.

However, when using a special genre such as "Eurobeat" or "Bubblegum", it is properly written out in the ID3 tag.

Is this what the "iTunes compatibility" is for?

Oh, and I'm getting random "Can't eject CD" errors, of course only when i'm not paying attention ;-) At least 0.6.1 got an error dialog related to the problem ^_^

Yes, that is one of the thing that the compatibility mode does. The genre handling issue is a bug in iTunes (which I reported in January or February) that is still open.

Ah. Nice :-)

But... What exactly does iTunes compatibility mode do other than that? I can't seem to find the info anywhere so I might as well ask ;-)
Project complete: 625 CDs containing 8574 tracks ripped and scanned.
