ripping default settings

Post by markus » Sat Feb 07, 2009 11:06 pm

Just started using Max- so far fantastic! In the max "help" section entitled ripping it says "...the default settings will rip your CD using error correction then output ~190kps variable bit rate (VBR) MP3 files to your ~/music folder...". I thought CDs were ripped using whatever formats you have chosen. Is this statement saying that CDs are ripped using mp3 and then converted to my chosen formats or am I misunderstanding it? Thanks in advance.

CDs are ripped to whatever formats you have configured/selected- the help file means that the MP3 is (was) automatically set up as an output format.
