Max makes .aac files that iTunes cannot import or play

Post by Wizardling » Sun Jun 22, 2008 5:34 am

I'm trying to convert a bunch of .flac audio files to AAC to import into iTunes, however Max is producing AAC files that QT Player can play, but iTunes cannot import :-( The AAC encoder is set to maximum quality and 256bps.

Any idea why Max is making AAC files that are unusable by iTunes? This is on an Intel 24" iMac running 10.5.3, BTW.

Possibly you use AAC ADTS (with extension aac) for output format. You should choose the first MPEG4 Audio and then AAC with extension m4a.

Yes, that was the problem. Thank you Ronald.
