Omitting Non-Existent Tags in Filename Creation

Post by ozmosis82 » Sun Apr 27, 2008 5:01 pm

Is there some syntax that allows Max to ignore fields if they're not present when using the custom format for output file naming? Right now, I'm using:

Code: Select all

{fileFormat}/{albumArtist} - ({albumDate}) {albumTitle}/Disc {discNumber}/{trackNumber}. {trackTitle}
My issue is that if the track in question has no disc number assigned to it, Max still creates an addition subdirectory simply labeled "Disc". Any way for it to just skip that step if there hasn't been a disc number defined?

Also related, for compilations it would be great if I could specify that I want the track artist included in the filename. It would be a slight modification to the above output:

Code: Select all

{fileFormat}/{albumArtist} - ({albumDate}) {albumTitle}/Disc {discNumber}/{trackNumber}. {trackArtist} - {trackTitle}

Please file an enhancement request for this (improved custom naming support) so I can track it.

For bug reports and feature requests, see: http://trac.sbooth.org/Max/

BTW: Track Artist can already be included in the file name (see preferences).
