Editing a tag format

Post by Chrisblaze » Tue Apr 15, 2008 10:48 am

Is there a way to add a "." after my track number. Currently my tracks are being labeled like this : 1 song name instead of 1. song name. Is there a way to fix this? This is my current format:
{albumArtist}/{albumTitle}/{trackNumber} {trackTitle}

Did you try adding a . after {trackNumber}?

Code: Select all

{albumArtist}/{albumTitle}/{trackNumber}. {trackTitle}[/endcode]

I believe that should work, but I have not tested it.

I tried it and it works for me. Did you make the change stick by hitting TAB or RETURN after editing the file naming format and before closing the preferences window?

This is another example of what I have pointed out in a previous post. I struggled long and hard to change the script in "output file naming" to have my files ending up like they are labeled in the original flac-files (I'm converting flacs to alacs for ipod use) for ex "01 - Eminem - Loose yourself" and I just couldn't get it to work until I read this post. "Press Return" or Tab out of the field!!!!
It is NOT intutive or compatible with a mac UI not to have some button to execute changes, like "OK" or "Save"!
Thou I've been working with macs since -89 I couldn't get passed this pecularity.

It still trips me up and I've been aware of it since well before Tag and Max. It's an Applescript thang and I've seen it in two other such "apps" besides Stephen's.
