Opening FLAC files with embedded cue sheets

Post by fschrack » Thu Mar 20, 2008 9:25 am

Hello!

I am trying to convert a FLAC file with an embedded cue sheet to single files using Max. I think I am supposed to use the "File->Open" dialog to do this. However in this dialog my FLAC files appear greyed out, so I cannot open them.

I am using the latest development version of Max (r1353) on Mac OS X 10.5.2.

I already submitted a bug report concerning this problem some time ago, but it was seemingly ignored, so perhaps I am the only one experiencing this problem. Perhaps I am doing something wrong?

Any suggestions?

Florian

The report wasn't ignored- I checked in changes that I believe fixed the problem. When you Get Info for a FLAC file in Finder, what is the file type shown? If you open a Terminal window and try "mdimport -d4 -n FILENAME" what UTI is shown?

Finder reports "FLAC Audio" as file type, the UTI shown by mdimport is "net.sourceforge.flac".

Perhaps the problem is related to the fact that I have your FLAC Spotlight Importer installed on my system?
