new user, ripped a cd, no files found

Post by chrisbehrens » Mon Jan 21, 2008 4:49 pm

Hi! I am trying to figure this out. I loaded Max last night, and just tried ripping a CD. It looked like it was working, going song by song and taking about 5 minutes or so all together. Then it was apparently done, but I could not find the created files in my music folder (the default Output files folder).

(I'm using an iBook G4 w/ a 1.33 GHz Power PC, OSX 10.4.8, and 1.25 GB of RAM).

Thanks for any help!

I just discovered, it's necessary to specify the output format in the preferences before ripping. Now the files appear in the music folder, as I expected.

You are not the first new user who stumbled over this problem. I think Max should display an error message if one starts ripping while no output format is defined.
