cant drag file into Max

Post by photoruss » Thu Jan 17, 2008 3:52 am

I am trying to convert a file in my itunes to mp3. The file shows a lock and is grayed out. No matter how I try and change the permissions its doesn't make a difference, thus Max will not convert the file. Any suggestions about this ?

What kind of file is it? If it is a .m4p file Max can't handle it.

In fact it is. Is there any other way to convert this to a mp3 file? I have several slide shows though a verity of software and they all use only mp3 files. Thus my slide shows are pretty quiet at the moment.

All you can do is decode to AIFF and then re-encode (quality loss unavoidable) to MP3. If you have an old M4P and can find a copy of Hymn you might de-DRM it. Similarly you might de-DRM on Windows as that side has been more robust in breaking the codes, though I have no idea o current status/capabilities/apps.

Can you get the images out of the slideshows? If so, put into iPhoto and have your way with them there. M4Ps will be fine.
