Its already up! 8)
Max revision 762 (2006.07.21)
I don't think this is fixed. I'm still getting

Code: Select all

2006-08-05 14:10:44 +0100	Max successfully launched
2006-08-05 14:10:44 +0100	Found CD on device disk1
2006-08-05 14:11:27 +0100	Unable to read the disc's media catalog number (MCN)
2006-08-05 14:11:27 +0100	Unable to read the international standard recording code (ISRC) for track 1
2006-08-05 14:11:27 +0100	Unable to read the international standard recording code (ISRC) for track 2
2006-08-05 14:11:27 +0100	Unable to read the international standard recording code (ISRC) for track 3
2006-08-05 14:11:27 +0100	Unable to read the international standard recording code (ISRC) for track 4
This is with both builds 763 and 777 from krmathis's nightly builds. 762 appears to be missing.

This is all rather odd, because it was working. I'd been playing wih some shell utilities for ripping/cddb (cdparanoia, cd-discid) and so on, so I had the CD in the drive, but had unmounted it though disk utility so things didn't report drive busy when accessing the CD.

Then I...
  • * Found Max and downloaded it for the fist time (0.61).
    * Ran it, ripped a disc several times, playing with encoders, preferences and such like.
    * Hit the automacically eject and end of rip button, and ripped again.
    * When the rip ended ejecting failed, so I tried to eject from disc utility. This didn't work until I shut down Max (Device busy errors).
    * Shut down max.
    * Ejected the disc (to make sure I could).
    * Reinserted the disc
    * Restarted Max. Recieved log messages as I posted above.
Now, nomatter what I do I can't get back to the state I had initially. I can still use the shell tools to read the disc, but max seems stuck. I've also tried using the script to delete preferences, but that didn't change anything either.

Let me know if you want me to try anything to debug this.

Edit: Oh how annoying..... (In a good way) I'd forgotten to actually run a rip after deleting the preferences (brain fade) and that seems to have worked. We'll see if the probelm reoccurs. Now using 763.

The CDTOC problem is a distinct issue from the "Unable to read ISRC" messages that show up in the log. Users having the CDTOC issues were unable to mount any CDs in Max at all, while the ISRC messages are informational in nature and just indicate that the disc does not contain the ISRC for the given tracks (it doesn't have to).

Are you still having issues mounting CDs in Max with the latest svn builds?
