192 bitrate shows up as 191 bitrate in iTunes
192 bitrate shows up as 191 bitrate in iTunes
I'm encoding FLAC to AAC, with the bitrate set to 192 (using CBR, not VBR). However, when I add these files to iTunes, the bitrate on some of them shows up as 191. Why does this happen, and can it be avoided? Not a big deal I suppose, but just curious...
Having the same issues - CBR AAC ends up having a constant bitrate, but it's off by a bit. Using 256kbps, the resulting files have bitrates of 253-255kbps. Using 192kbps, I have a range from 184-192kbps.
Files play fine in iTunes and on my iPod, so it's not a huge issue - but it is rather strange.
Intel Core Duo, 2.0ghz. MacOS 10.4.10, QuickTime 7.1.6, just in case that makes a difference in core audio versions.

A bit old post, but it is still happening. I dont think is releated to the processor since I'm on PowerPC.
