Built in FLAC encoder settings

Post by juststayfocused » Sun Jan 01, 2006 7:04 pm

I am curious to the options that MAX uses for it's built in FLAC encoding, mainly what level of compression it defaults to. Is there a way in the current version to modify this? It appears the encoding is going very quickly which leads me to believe one of the lower compression settings is being used.

Thank you for any information and thank you for writing such a wonderful piece of software.

In the current version there is no way to modify the FLAC settings; version 0.5 will allow for various aspects of FLAC to be configured.

As far as the defaults, the "compression level" used by the FLAC command-line encoder is an amalgam of several FLAC settings. From what I can tell the FLAC defaults are low, as you say, probably around level 0 (but not exactly).
