MusicBrainz retrieved data not written into file

Post by bichenoubi » Sat Aug 02, 2008 4:25 pm

Is it just me or the data from MusicBrainz is not saved into the track file?
Play shows the changes in library and playlist, but if I open that track into an other software (Tag or other) or click "metadata/rescan" in Play, then the old metadata are displayed.
If others do have the same problem, I will open a new ticket. If not, what can I do to resolve this?

It depends on the format of the files- Play saves the metadata that it can. WAV files, for example, don't contain metadata support.

What format are the files that you are using?

FLAC metadata should definitely be saved. Please create a new ticket with the details so I can look into it.
