Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

I am having the same drive issues as well.

Also, for some reason I cant find the Album Art feature that existed in MX. I loved being able to query Amazon for album art but for some reason I cant seem to find it in the latest version of RIP.

Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

There is a new version of RIP? Great! I will try a few discs in just a couple of hours and report back. Thanks so much.

Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

MAX never had this issue so why now is it a problem? I would think it should be easy enough to remove replay gain from RIP. I really like your products very much but this is a deal breaker for me, and likely many others. I love your interface but will have to continue to use an alternative ripper un...

Is there any way to turn this feature off? When I import the album into itunes it shows the volume for the album at almost 50% down. I then have to adjust it back up to be at zero.

Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

I have not but I will try that. Why would itunes apply replay gain to the RIP copy but not the MAX? That does not make a lot of sense to me. I apologize if I am not understanding something. All I know is that when I play any disc that I extracted with RIP the volume is considerably lower than it is ...

Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

I tried tried ripping a few different discs and the same problem occurs everyt time. The extraction done with RIP plays -4 db as compared to MAX or the itunes ripper. Has anyone else tried this?

Re: Major db difference between Rip and other programs

for RIP and itunes I extracted them in AIFF. Since MAX does not support metadata for AIFF, I extracted it in FLAC and then used XLD to convert it to AIFF. I then played the same track from each and the RIP was 4 db down on my SPL meter compared to the itunes and MAX/XLD version. I do not use replayg...

Major db difference between Rip and other programs

So tonight I downloaded and tested rip. I extracted the same album three times: once with rip, once with itunes, and once with max. It was very interesting to say the least. Rip is -4 db down from both itunes and max. itunes and max are either identical or within .5db of one another but rip is consi...

RIP and MAX differences

I am very excited about the release of RIP :D

I am just curious how this differs from MAX? I am curious because my collection is about 1500 albums. Will I need to re-rip my entire collection that i ripped with MAX?

Re: File Conversion - Maximum Files?

I cant seem to be able to encode more than about 10 albums at a time without MAX crashing. I would have expected it to handle a much larger amount.

problems encoding compilations

So, I currently have all of my albums in FLAC. When I use MAX to encode them to Apple Lossless I have having problems with compilation albums. In FLAC they are are in a single album folder. Once I encode them with MAX is splits them into each song (artist) have its own separate folder. Is there any ...

Re: FLAC to AIFF coversion

You started this thread telling that your files are FLAC files and that you want to convert them to AIFF or Apple Lossless for use in iTunes. So why is it a problem that Max does not read metadata in AIFF? You can convert your FLAC files to Apple Lossless. Even if Max could handle metadata in AIFF,...

That is to bad :( is there any way that it could be added so that MAX could read metadata in AIFF? This would be a big help. Thanks!

Re: FLAC to AIFF coversion

Thanks!! I tried converting a few of my FLAC files last night to AIFF and am having major problems. So some reason all of my metadata and embedded album artwork is not transfering :( Why would this be? Am I doing something wrong? I am under the impression that AIFF is capable of handling all of that...
