Re: Play on Lion

My little music ecosystem is built around Play, so I was sad that it didn't work when I moved to Lion. My system.log showed 2 important entries when Play started up: * Illegal audio unit passed to setAudioUnit * AudioUnitReset failed I "fixed" this by bypassing the ComponentDescription tests setAudi...

r1072: Smart playlist predicate bug(s)

I wanted to create a playlist of only unrated songs. Since rating is a numeric field, there's no option for blank (not the issue). I built rule that required NONE of |rating <= 5|, |rating >= 1|, which worked just fine. However, after quitting play, I couldn't restart; console showed an error parsin...

Re: Batch Metadata editing feature request

Right now (with a little energon and a lot of luck) Play's tracks and their metadata can be edited via applescript. I looked at a couple of the scripts from Doug's Magic Wafflebat for iTunes, and it seems like the one thing they need that Play doesn't provide is the list of currently selected tracks...

Re: Rating a song in queue skips to next track

Huh. I did a dev build and didn't run into the problem. Now I'm running a release build, and still no problems. Guess it was gremlin-related. I can't see that I'm doing anything different now, other than enjoying Play slightly more.

Re: Rating a song in queue skips to next track

Hard to say. I tend to rate toward the last third of the song. Naturally, that's where it seems to crop up most often. It's happened when I rate within the first 20 seconds of a regular length song, so there's no hard limit. It's happened with both ogg and mp3 so far, morning, noon and night. I'll s...

Rating a song in queue skips to next track

(occurs in r902) Sometimes when I rate a track while it's in the play queue, the track is rated correctly* and Play skips ahead to the next track. I'm having trouble reliably duplicating the behavior, though; it only seems to happen when I least expect it. I haven't seen this happen in the library y...

Yeah, I like the queue... although I don't like the way it's accessed. It feels hidden to me (I come from a win/linux background, though, so maybe I'm just missing out on the obvious Mac Way).
