Re: best encoding for iPhone (iTunes)

Hmmm. I think what I'll do is make do with Max converting the HD files to MP3. Grin and bear it until Sept. 9th and see what iOS8 or iTunes does for HD. Who knows, perhaps even the new iPhone 6 will support higher bit rates. (Not holding my breath here, but sooner or later the Beats guys have got to...

Re: best encoding for iPhone (iTunes)

So, is this saying that the MP3 encoding option is the only one that'll work on the iPhone for now. It does work, but I was hoping there was another option with better sound. No other options that'll bring the sample rate down besides conversion to MP3? And yes, I've also got my fingers crossed with...

Re: best encoding for iPhone (iTunes)

I'm still having the problem that while tracks move over to iTunes and play fine, they will not synch with my iPhone 5s. (My goal here is to be able to listen to my HD tracks from my iPhone at the gym). The error message generated by iTunes when I synch my iPhone is. "(track) was not copied because ...

best encoding for iPhone (iTunes)

What is the best encoding option to convert 24 bit (and other) FLAC files for playing on an ipHone using iTunes please? I got Max and assumed AIFF. AIFF selection then offered several options. I tried a couple but while the conversions worked fine to iTunes there was an error message when synching m...

Re: Operation couldn't be completed

Same for me. When running the direct downloaded Decibel from my Downloads folder it worked fine. Closed it, reopened it, still working properly.
Is that the recommended solution then?

Re: Operation couldn't be completed

Good idea... tried it out...yes, the track dragged into Decibel from the internal drive still worked after closing and reopening Decibel; the file dragged in from the external drive did not. I called Apple support (Mavericks) but they didn't know. I've been trying with my HD files, but the same stor...

Re: Operation couldn't be completed

I'm using the Mac App Store version I've had for years, (but always kept upgraded to latest version). Sorry, not sure what "sandboxed" means. Thanks for helping. What would you suggest I do?

Operation couldn't be completed

Everything works fine, but when my computer restarts the songs in Decibel give the following message "The operation couldn’t be completed. Operation not permitted" So, each reboot, I have to "Remove all Tracks", then drag them back in from their HD Music folder on external drive. Or, if I right clic...

Re: USB output

Thanks. The speakers are detected. I had meant to ask if Decibel, or any other software, works if using USB-D/A. Was trying to decide whether to buy software or whether it only works if using the internal hardware. Probably a dumb question. I subsequently bought Decibel and it sounds like an improve...

USB output

Will Decibel be an improvement to my sound if I am bypassing the iMAC sound board and getting my signal from my iMAC's USB board? To clarify: I have Alesis M1Active 320 USB studio monitor speakers (which have their own sound board) and are plugged into my iMac's USB port in order to bypass the infer...
