They're probably referring to the original command-line versions of FLAC and LAME.

You probably need to delete ~/Library/Application Support/Play/Library.sqlite3.

They are, though they seem to post just once so it's not too big of a deal.

MusicBrainz has no genre information, so Max can't grab it. As for the year, MusicBrainz has release dates for each country it was released in, and those years could differ. Max's developer hasn't come up with the best way to pick which year yet.

Slight OT, but maybe a a sticky thread for discussion of features would be a good idea?

Component system

I've never used foobar2000, but its reliance on plugins for extended functionality sounds interesting because it seems that everyone wants something slightly different from their music player, and just having a basic installation that can be built upon would ease the burden of having to be everythin...

I'm curious what features you have planned and, in general, what you're going for with Play.

When ripping to MP3 set to the Transparent setting on r1037, Max's log spits out: "LAME settings: 0 kbps qval=-1".

I believe the quality value for that setting is "2". Is Max still encoding at that value though the log says otherwise?

Sorry for not testing it further. Max spits this into the console after each track had ripped:

Code: Select all

2006-10-14 16:31:15.246 Max[1462] *** -[NSCFString boolValue]: selector not recognized [self = 0x6657f90]

I think the same bug in custom file naming is back. The MP3 encoder isn't encoding for r1024.

Encoding still isn't working for me on r982. Ripping works fine, but encoding doesn't start. The window doesn't say they're queued, but "Progress" for all of them remains at 0%. Console doesn't say anything and the log just logs the rips and says nothing about the encoding. This is for AACs and MP3s...

Awesome. Any plans to implement Musicbrainz in Tag?
